Reestore just keeps surprising us with the clever and creative reuse designs. Ben the Bin by Reestore is a new product that makes recycling easy and fun. Ben is a cute stackable, washable recycling receptacle made of 100% recycled plastic. The first thing it recycles is plastic grocery bags to hold all your other recyclables...
Ben the Bin comes in 3 different colors – pink, green and blue – to help sort and separate your recyclables. It has built in handles for easier carrying, and uses plastic grocery bags for storage. The design makes it easy to use, and perfect for small spaces because of its stacking ability.

Ben the Bin is available at Green Depot for $23.95.

This is nice, but we really need to get away from using plastic bags in the first place!
maybe it is a corn bag? I think it is cute but it doesn't look sturdy enough to stand up to nosy cats...
Clever, but not all communities allow plastic bags to go into the recycling. I do a similar, even more low-tech thing: I just use brown paper shopping bags, fill them up with recyclables, and haul them out to the bin when they're full.
cats shouldn't bother it if you rinse out your recyclables :)
My cat would probably knock these over too. Rinsed or no, she's just nosey! :)
Not happy :(
this claims to be a green idea...but i have my concerns...first, that it is made of plastic (even recycling doenst make it bio-degradable), second it ass for more plastic bags to collect "recyclables"...sorry..not liking the concept!
oops..sorry for the typo...i meant asks*
I have to echo the other posts. Using plastic bags to collect recyclables is a poor idea.
It angers me to no end when I take my out or to collection area where they say all over "NO PLASTIC BAGS" and yet the bins are full of recyclables in tied plastic bags.
Why make the effort to keep/rinse/sort recyclables then put them in plastic bags at the very last step?
Odds are, they never see recycling if they are in bags like that.
This idea needs to be thought through a bit more.
Cute, but not the most practical thing when you have pets or can't recycle plastic bags.
I've moved recently, and while I gave away most of my moving boxes to a coworker who was also planning a move, some boxes were just too beat-up to donate or reuse. For the past month or so, my recycling method has consisted of useing one such box to hold all my recycling. When the box fills up, it gets recycled along with the contents, and I move on to the next. Not the prettiest of solutions, but then, how appealing does one need the recycling bin to be?!
On that note, $23.95 seems awfully steep to me, when you can get a regular (and much sturdier) recycling bin for under $5...
Hmm I don't care for them either. instead of plastic bags what about the reusable shopping bags? Maybe they will fit.
We have ZERO floor space for recycling, so I hung it up on the wall & used two of the IKEA Trones shoe storage bins in black. They're plastic, the bin compartments come right off for carting the recyclables outside... and they take up virtually NO ROOM. Awesome. They come in a 3-pack, so I'm still trying to find a use for the 3rd bin! Garage storage...
Think outside the (bag) box! I know that had nothing to do w/reusing your plastic grocery bags, so I offer a trash solution for them: http://www.simplehuman.com/products/trash-cans/in--cabinet-cans/grocery-with-holder.html
