Playing with Color. Some people have an ease and confidence picking out colors, but some of us become wracked with indecision. For the later group, Benjamin Moore's online Personal Color Viewer is a great way to get started.
Choose a photograph of a room (bedrooms, kids' rooms, living rooms, exterior, etc.) and then click on different paint colors to test them out. In some rooms, you can try different colors for the walls, ceiling and trim.
Of course, the colors will not be represented perfectly on your computer screen so we wouldn't recommend picking an exact paint color this way. Rather, it's an easy way to get a feel for different colors and shades in a room as a starting point before you go to the store.
We like this Benjamin Moore tool because it's so easy to use, but there are surely similar online tools out there - know any good ones to recommend? Let us know in the comments!
