Project by: Erica Palmeira/Cheer Up! Design
Location: Melbourne, VIC, Australia
When I started his project, I had in mind that I needed to create a flexible decor, one that mum and dad could easily adjust in the years to come. Besides that, the nursery should be cheerful and unique, without exceeding a tight budget. Oh, there was a special request: include "Mingau", their black and white cat, in the decoration.
For Benjamin's nursery, I not only designed the bedroom and some exclusive illustrations, but also went on an eBay hunt to find a beautiful cot and a stylish dresser that could grow old with him.
His dad joined me in this journey embracing the project. He painted the walls, installed new curtains and the high shelf himself! The dresser was the most precious finding. It's so beautiful and full of character that, as I told them, I could steal it for my own bedroom.
As you can see through the pictures, there is no such thing as matchy furniture in this project, and still, they are in perfect harmony. As they are local clients, I got to make some pom-pom garlands and the cot mobile, as well as some yellow raindrops and a cloud shaped pillow myself to complete the look.
In the end, everything was beautiful and ready to welcome little Ben.
