Every year, New Yorkers — and those of us who live there vicariously — eagerly await the unveiling of department store holiday window displays. This year's "Carnival of Animals"-themed extravaganza at Bergdorf Goodman might be one of my favorites of all time.

It's hard to imagine how much planning and manpower it took to make these scenes come alive. Where does one even find a giant polar bear in a chef's hat? There are five completely different worlds in a one-block span (you can see the rest of the windows over at Trendland).
