"The most important things in our homes (besides family) are usually those that are handed down, have special meaning, or have been made for us. I have just started designing and making bespoke quilts that combine all of these thoughts, and hopefully make the home a haven....."
"Hand pieced from a mixture of vintage silks and cottons, the quilts are then quilted by traditional quilters and are then hand-bound in silk.
The quilts are based in my love for keeping traditional crafts alive, but keeping them relevant for modern lives.
I hope you like them.
(note no drawings used - just my eyes and my hands!) "

I just have to say that I'm so over the word "bespoke." It's so pretentious, it puts me off.
I like the quilts though.
I like the curling leaf pattern they quilted them in. As a hand-quilter myself, I recognize how much work that requires.
Beautiful quilts.
These are really pretty but, since they're bespoke, I'm not sure that they really qualify as a product that is not yet in production. I guess I thought this contest was about student work or prototypes that could be picked up by a manufacturer, or something along those lines. Am I mistaken?
They are beautiful, and I'm sure creating them involves an incredible amount of time and expertise. However at $1300 USD there is NO WAY, even in a moment of sheer insanity, I would ever purchase one. I like to be able to use things, rather than just preserving them, and even in a guest room I would be so worried about ruining it!
How many hours does it take to make a quilt? I agree that the stitch pattern on them is beautiful.
$1300 for a quilt? Zero stars from me.
I admire quilts so much because I cannot fathom really making one. Though I often dream about it.

I think the price is justified. Handmade quilts are incredibly labor-intensive. And if you take care of them, they can be passed down as heirlooms.
I would like to do something like this, find an old ottoman at a thrift store and quilt something like this, more like sewing some interesting panels together-

Gorgeous. But way out of my price range :(
Love the vintage fabrics in the quilts! I collect vintage kimono - I'm obsessed with the patterns and the colors. Each one is different. I enjoy seeing how they "play" together in these quilts.
what does bespoke mean?
bespoke means custom-made
(I looked it up after seeing it a number of times in my Living Etc. magazines, which is British)
No contact information? How does this help the artist?
Beautiful. Too bad I don't have $1600 laying around.
They are beautiful and I wish I could afford one.
Beautiful colors and beautiful craftmanship.

love the colors. i want one.
As a quilter, I'm somewhat dubious of these being hand-quilted... only a machine can make lines that continuous. Unless you're outsourcing to Amish women who can get 10 stitches per inch.
