Although apps like Newsstand from Apple make finding digital magazines easier than ever, it is surprisingly slim pickings in the shelter category. While we wait for the digital Domino subscription of our dreams, here are a few of our favorites and reader suggestions for your home decor tablet reading fancy that are available now.
Heart Home:
While not an app, this digital home decor magazine from the UK is available online and is specifically formatted for the iPad screen. Just navigate to this link and as long as you have web access, you can read it. Since I don't have an Android tablet to test with, I was unable to confirm how well it loads on those devices, but I imagine it will work just as well. Here at Apartment Therapy, we love this magazine and are hoping that the ability to pay and download issues for offline reading will be an option in the future. Free
Zinio:
The Zinio magazine reader is a free app available for both Android and iPad and has under its belt a large array of magazines to subscribe to. Our particular favs in this roundup category include Dwell, Wallpaper, Vogue Living, and Living Etc. App is free, subscription costs vary by publication
Lekiosk:
I discovered this app by a reader suggestion. With over 600 French magazine titles, it's a great source for those French decor mags you crave. Reader Gachelet uses it to read Maisons Côté Sud, Est, Ouest, or Paris. Of course Marie Claire Maison, ELLE Décoration, and Art & Décoration are also available. App is free, subscription costs vary by publication
What are your favourite home decor mags to read on your tablet?

ReadyMade mag was great. Then they sold out to a large publishing company (literally) & lost all spark. :(
Ouch, the pain of losing ReadyMade is still fresh. sniffle.
I really like Zinio, I use it to purchase a lot of intentional Home decor mags, which if you can even find here are usually much more expensive than through Zinio. My fav is Home & Antiques out of the UK, from the Antiques Roadshow peeps. So good.
it's a shame what happened to readymade. who knew they were such a threat?
Thanks Joelle for this piece. We equally love Apartment Therapy at Heart Home so it was a delight to see this post.
For sure we want to make it native on mobile devices - it feels very natural to do so and we're working on something in the not-too-distant-future.
Watch this space!
Love Zinio , had to clear out my UK Homes and Gardens and House and Garden collection from 2006..they are on my Asus Prime!
I can confirm that heart home works fine on an HP touchpad running the cyanogenmod 9 build. also, I really like it so thanks for the rec!
