I'm a rope hammock girl. Growing up, I knew it was summer when my mom hung up our LL Bean hammock in the side yard. I have a friend that swears by string hammocks; she buys them off the streets of Brazil when she goes home to visit family. Rope, string or fabric, small or large, hammocks can instantly help create an escape at home. Here are our current favorites. Be sure to include your best finds in the comments below.

My favorite hammock is the classic Nags Head Hammock. We just replaced ours after the wood finally cracked, from 25 years of abuse.
I thought of the same hammock before I saw the above comment... they are truly amazing and have them in every application imaginable... chairs, swings, etc... and they're made in North Carolina!

I have a Dura-cord double on a 10 year old Target metal stand. This is my 3rd hammock -- first 2 were cotton and didn't hold up as well to sun here in the Valley of the same. It felt a little harder than the cotton at first but now I'm used to it. Our incredible hail storm of 2010 did no damage to it tho my umbrella and awning were trashed. It's 3 yrs old now and still in great shape. Recommend!
I really like the first one. On another note, that last one is totally shot on cabbage beach on Paradise island (bahamas). I would recognise it anywhere! Homesick now...
beautiful hammocks, especially the first and the fourth since i am a big brazilian hammocks fan
I have a hammock very similar to #8 on the list above. I bought it in Nicaragua, and it's really fabulous! Highly recommended. The shipping price on them is high, but realistic.
All the hammock photos which are in this post are quite impressive to look. I just want to say now a days hammocks are also counted as a fashion trend for the fashion oriented people who are going for a outdoor travel. Hammocks are handy, portable and easy to assemble for which every outing peoples first choice going towards a hammock for relax.
