We all have our morning rituals. For me, I start first thing with a cup of tea. So much of that experience is the cup - which you don't always realize until you find your mug. Fitting into your hand (or hands) perfectly, it makes drinking your drink, a richer experience. I was recently turned on to Helen Levi mugs, below, and Atelier Dion mugs, above, which are made out of signature pigmented clays. Expensive, YES, but you only need ONE.
Which ones do you like? And what am I missing?

One more picture of the entire range of Atelier Dion's colored mugs!

From Helen Levi in Brooklyn: "Dark brown clay with a porcelain handle. The shape was inspired by vintage enamelware camping mugs, with a straight silhouette and a small looped handle to fit two fingers. Available dipped halfway in white, mint, or pine glaze."

From Kate Lewis in Grand Rapids, Michigan, this is a sweet old shape made by young hands.

From Los Angeles based duo, Kat & Roger, "Each mug varies in color, design, and is completely unique."

From Natalie Weinberger in Brooklyn, this slim, tall mug still has a nice volume: "AN ELEGANT MUG. SPECKLED STONEWARE WITH WHITE SATIN GLAZE. HAND WASHING IS RECOMMENDED. DUE TO THE HANDMADE NATURE SLIGHT VARIATIONS IN FORM AND FINISH ARE TO BE EXPECTED."

From Tuku Shinomoto in Venice, LA, Hasami porcelain is a lovely, clean, earthy modern take on hand thrown ceramics. His mugs come in a number of sizes and colors - two of which are shown above: "Available in 3 sizes: small, medium and large. These mugs are easily stackable and therefore easy to store and display. Made from a mixture of porcelain and clay. Dishwasher and microwave safe."
