I've found some beautiful wood tables handmade by Etsy sellers. Not only are they all one of a kind (with other models to choose from), but they're decently priced too. I like the idea of supporting an independent artist as well (rather than buying something mass-produced and shipped from, say, China). Bonus: these woods are all sourced responsibly, so no trees were unnecessarily harmed here. Take a look and share what you think below!
1. Live Edge Walnut Slab with Brass Base by Dylan Design Co., $950
2. Reclaimed Wood Coffee Table, set on 15" Steel Hairpin Legs by Atlas Wood Co., $315
3. The Adrian, Hand-scraped Cedar and Black Metal by Dohler Designs, $398
4. "Calvin," Reclaimed Maple with Live Edge by ElpisWorks, $900
5. Croft House Coffee Table - Reclaimed from Train Station, $875

LOVE that you mentioned that the wood was sourced responsibly and NOT made in China! It's so important to know where your products come from. As for this style, I'm obsessed with this industrial meets rural trend- wood top and steel legs. I also found this table from Vermont Woods Studios that has the same look (a reclaimed wood top and steel base) --> http://vermontwoodsstudios.com/products/metropolitan-coffee-table---reclaimed
hmm? this metal and natural or reclaimed wood pairings seems extremely popular these days. Love the Maple Live Edge one!
this I found in Toronto http://plankdesign.ca/2012/05/blog-post_4273.html great concept

Thanks Dennis! We are running a 10% off promo on that table. Use October10 at checkout through Etsy.

I've been dreaming about that Dylan Design slab table since I spotted it on Etsy last month! If I only I had a spot and a budget for it. I blogged about how I'd style it here: http://maddesigninterest.blogspot.com/2012/09/my-girlie-moment.html

Great article! These are the exact tables I consider purchasing for my place and the warmth and richness of these woods help bring life to a room.
