High chairs have been an essential part of children's meal time for as long as kids have been around. While they once looked like adult chairs with a tray attached, today's high chairs are as diverse as the kids who squirm around in them. We looked around at what's available today and, along with the opinions of our readers, rounded up the 10 best high chairs available.

WHAT THE READERS SAY
"Love, love, love our Antilop! Can't say enough good things about this wonderfully simple chair. I've had four kids, been through several high chairs (even owned a modern wooden one) and this chair is by far leaps and bounds ahead of the others. It's not fancy BUT it's not obnoxious and is oh-so-simple to keep clean and maintain. It seriously looks as good as new with just a wipe down here and there. Did I say I LOVE this chair?" - djungst
"Yay Antilop! We love ours, packs up small for trips, easy to clean and CHEAP!" - KkatMpls
"i splurged for the boon and I love it! It is kinda heavy on the bottom, but it looks cool. I think that it is very very safe for any size baby. I will be using this chair 3 times a day for at least 2 (times number of kids) years, so I wanted to get one that I enjoyed seeing! Also, it serves as a great walker toy for the baby :)" - benayse
"We have the Boon chair, and LOVE IT! Adjustable height, easy to clean and great customer service (we broke a clip, and they had me take a picture, and shipped out all new straps in a hurry)." - res325

Nomade Express Slee...
I'm surprised you didn't include any that attach to a chair, especially for those of us with limited kitchen space. I used the fisher price space saver, ripped off the ugly cover and just left the hard plastic - easy to clean and it didn't add another chair in my already crowded kitchen.
Ikea FTW as usual. Value and style. The other chairs here don't even come close.
Though I do think the next-cheapest (LA Baby) is also the next-nicest.
^^THIS
You missed the Svan chair. It's nice and small, and works as a high chair or a booster, like the tripp trapp.
I had the Posh Pod high chair. It was a cinch to clean but, those legs stuck out so much that my family constantly tripped over them. So I donated it and got the Tripp Trapp and LOVE it!
Love my tripp trapp, but i think the new hang sitt (booster/highchair to go) would be great for apartment and small house dwellers
We have the Joovy Nook. For our second we gave away our old Chicco, which was too bulky and honestly scared me when I slid the tray in. The Joovy Nook folds in half with the flip of a switch and has a handle to carry. It's lightweight (yet still sturdy). We hang it on a wall hook in the garage now that our son is in a booster at the table. But if we need his chair for company, we just pull the Nook right out of the garage. When we go on vacation to the beach, it goes with us to the condo. It's so easy to carry and store, we just love it. Plus, at $150, it's reasonably priced. Also, love how easy it is to wipe down. Our old Chicco had many folds in the seat cushion. It made cleaning a chore. The Nook is pretty simple, which makes things much easier. My son is a big 2 year old and still fits in it. And I wouldn't make a habit of it, but my average-sized 4 1/2 year old can also fit in it (when he likes to pretend he's a baby).
I finally ditched my Space Saver chair...it actually took up too much space in the kitchen because I couldn't push the chair in, and it got in the way. Love our new Phil&Ted's Lobster clip-on chair. Kind of expensive, and doesn't work with every table. BUT it's been perfect for our situation.
I had several highchairs before we got the antelop. Nothing comes close to comparing! One of ours was just like the L.A. Baby one and it wasn't great, It was hard to clean and got all grimy in no time, plus it has no tray so it has to fit perfectly at your table. The antelop is possibly the best baby item I've ever purchased. I thought it felt flimsy at first, but it's not. My son used it until he was probably around 35+ pounds. I have two little nephews and a new baby so this antelop is used a LOT and it looks brand new. It's been in the middle of the living room with 9 cousins running around countless times and never come close to knocking over. It's so light and easy to move, we bring it back and forth inside and outside constantly. Seriously cannot say enough good things about this thing! And at that price? Amazing! It's worth so much more.
I hate that Ikea Antilop. The legs stick out so far I've tripped over it several times and we don't even own it!
Love, love our Trip Trap. And our 5 year old and 3 year old eat so well in them.
In babyhood, I do love this http://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Price-Healthy-Deluxe-Booster-Green/dp/B0000DEW8N which can go anywhere, is easy to clean, and great for camping. But after a year we switch to the Trip Trap.
We love our IKEA Antilop as well. Looks nice and simple, great price and super easy to clean. I agree that the legs can be a tripping hazard. That's one negative. My only other complaint is that the $5 tray we added to ours (which is great!) seems to be impossible to remove once it's on. I would like the versatility of being able to push it up to the table when my daughter gets mature enough to stop flinging a plate onto the floor. I'd definitely recommend it, though.
We have the Svan, I love how it is completely adjustable in so many ways, I bought covers for it that I just drop in the wash. Now rather than using it as a "highchair" it's just a higher chair for my 2 1/2 year old and it'll continue to grow with her. I preferred the curves on the svan to the corners on the Tripp Trapp (saw those as a safety hazard) and given the way she runs all over the house and NEVER looks where she is going, I'm glad I went with the Svan.
I have the Nook highchair from Joovy and love how compact it is and easy to fold. Great for small spaces
