Commercial Flour Sa...
Just a quick note that "chez zerbey" is actually just "chezerbey". =)
I don't see my nomination.
Chez Larsson!!!
Just want to point out that Jenny komenda interiors and little green notebook are actually the same blog, so they probably should be consolidated into a single nomination!
When do we get to see the blog up that we nominated?
few of them sites are not indexed but have a lot of votes...i think its something wired!
I am so happy this is up! I have been wanting to vote for my cousins site for awhile. Is it ok to spread the word to friends who don't know about apartment therapy, but do know about the blog?
This is great, so many good ones and so many I do not know. How did you come up with this list? My sister has a site which I think is really good and worthy of being on this list.
@JJENKINS - Merged! Thanks for pointing that out, looks like one slipped through.
@EVAKATHARINA - Thanks for the heads up we'll merge them.
@MARK FROM DESTINATION BUILDERS - Each blog goes into a moderation queue where the editors check to make sure the site exists (though some get through, like the typo'd designer pad site), isn't malicious, and is what it says it is. We do this throughout the day so if you nominate something you should see it after a bit!
@Trusso - Absolutely! They will need accounts to vote but do spread the word. Maybe they'll stay for a while! :)
@KAJABARA - These are user submitted, so do nominate your sister's site! The link for nominating is at the bottom of the list.
Bubble and Squeak...
http://www.bubbleandsqueakblog.blogspot.com/
I'm also totally loving West Elm's new blog, Front & Main...
@Patrick you need to log in and add your nomination to the form above -- nominations via comment are not counted.
Thanks, Scott! Done!
Don't see my nomination...
Showbox - rulezzzzz!!!)
@Urbangardens new nominations are held in a moderation queue. Depending on the time of day and volume of submissions it may be hours before new submissions appear.
Olimpic games in Sochi!!!
The TAO OF DANA never fails me.
:Love the Inspired Room
Thanks Scott--I will check back so I'll know when to promote it!
What a great idea! Several good ol' ones, a many that's new to me. Thanks!
What about the blogs that are listed on here twice? Like the Cavender Diary? Doesn't that divide votes?
hey- could you fix the spelling of my blog's name? it's "maison21", not "masion21". thank you!
The Tao of Dana or bust!!! Love that site, go every day!
Thank you for including our site!
Are past winners not allowed to be nominated?
Darn! My blog is nominated in the wrong category! It's here in Home design but should be in DIY. Is there any way to move it?
This is fun. Please note that classic•casual•home and Classic Casual Home are the same blog and should be combined.
Great to see classic casual home here!
Retro Renovation
I love the blog I voted for! I hope she wins
I don't see mine neither! :( How long is the process?
http://apetitpoisdesign.blogspot.com.au/
Great to see Home Stories A To Z! I love the blog! I must say that you are gonna be win!!
Love the enchanted home, best design blog i have ever read, but there are many great ones. i will have to spend some time checking out all these nominees!
Retro Renovation has been a source of constant surprise and admiration for me for over a year. Check it out!
Love Censational Girl, Southern Rhonda, and Bright Bazaar, great to see some of them here! Kudos and cheers.
I can see I could easily spend a whole day going through many of these that I don't know yet! Great resource for discovering new blogs.
Lovin' me some Thrifty Decor Chick! Thanks for doing this. Very uplifting and fulfilling for all nominees!
My favorites are here, Enchanted Home, Cococozy Cotedetexas, I see there are many left to discover though. Great, another thing to keep me from what I should REALLY be doing- excercise!
Hey I have a question... can the same blog be nominated in different categories?
************************** Vote for GORGEOUS SHINY THINGS! ******************************
Danika is a fearless in her execution of design and reinvention.
I love following her to see what she's going to do next!
I voted for ClassicCasualHome - but it is listed twice on the list - will the votes be combined at the end?
How long does it take for a nomination to process? Go Mid-century Midwest!
Go "Hammers & High Heels"
What a rad idea. We are all hommies despite the outcome, no?! It'll be fun to see how many folks vote for LOCZIdesign! Best of luck!
xo,
Mennlay
Go Slim Paley, Go! Lots of Love!
I can't live w/out my Slim Paley fix!
Am I the only one listed on here twice? Will someone combine the votes for the 2 Cavender Diaries? Not that it will skyrocket me to the top of the list of anything..... Hehehe
Go designsmitten! aside from great projects a truly love site design as well.
Go "ApetitPois"! It's one of the most elegant and nice blog I found since a long time!
Vote for it!
The Style at Home Blog is the most informative and interesting of all the blogs posted here.
Young House Love was a past winner in 2010, so they're not qualified to win again. You can see all past winners here.
Mary Ann @ ClassicCasualHome decorated my house and I love it!
The VOTE button does not show up for people using Safari browser. Any way to remedy this for those who don't favor Firefox?
This is really exciting! GO BUBBLE & SQUEAK !
Good luck Little Green Notebook! I can't believe you aren't in the top spot!
Adore Fatou Bah's '30Inspired' (it leaves me feeling inspired!) site so truly happy to see it in this list.
Congrats Fatou!
Love,
Marian
So many great blogs! Good luck everyone :)
For some reason, Urban Gardens is listed twice. Can you merge the two? Thanks!
Apetitpoisdesign! ApetitPoisdesign! Nice frenchy/english new blog. The young ones needs to win!
http://apetitpoisdesign.blogspot.com.au/
I see 2 listings for Retro Renovation... Maybe you need to merge the 2?
Oh man,it's too much. So many blogs,so little time! How will I try them all?!
The TAO of Dana!
I vote for Urban Gardens! Roots rules :-)
shoeboxdwelling is great blog!
Cocoon Home Design all the way!
would be great to have these listed in alphabetical order.
Why are there two urbangardens? (I actually think Green/Gardens should be a separate category - it's not really Home Design.)
(Also, I think blogs should only be allowed to compete in ONE category: the one that decribes them best....)
They don't post all that often, but The Modern Home is pretty good. Otherwise Lay Baby Lay is great!
question: a bunch of people tell me they have voted for my blog but the number doesn't change. i watched my sister do it and the number stayed the same. can you please explain? thanks in advance.
brandy
My vote goes to Down to Earth Style!! What a beautiful home and very creative using recycled materials. Way to go Holly!!
Kristian
call me the 'how to vote' tutorial queen! not the easiest to figure out for most people it seems....but i appreciate you all going through the process!
@jackielnx from designsmitten
I did not know I was nominated for this Thank you so much!
How can I vote? I can´t see the link! My vote goes to VOSGESPARIS!!
Just realized... haha!
I love "The Lettered Cottage". They get my vote, and I really hope they win!
Shoebox Dwelling is a super blog! Congratulations!
What should we do if we vote and the number of votes does not increase?
slimpaley.com is the best!
vote for Urban Gardens
Hi, I'm trying to vote for TheDesignerPad but it's not letting me. It says I've already voted but I haven't. What should I do?
hi trying to vote for enchanted home, its not allowing me to do that and i havent voted yet. Is there a technical glitch?
Omg!!!!! Life over easy all the way!!! It's my new favorite blog!!!!!!
I vote for Slim Paley!
color me stupid but how do I vote?
I am just as stupid--I don't get how to vote!
very good
is easy to vote. tries that connect
The Lettered Cottage has my vote!
What happened? Last time I checked, Urban Gardens had over 400 votes-- now it is below 200. What's going on?
Cheating is what's going on.
Thank you, Apartment Therapy.
hi there...
it looks like my blog Mid-Century MODERN LOVE has two different entries. Not sure how that happened. any chance of combining them? they are the same but counted two different times. thanks!
brandy @ midcenturymodernlove.com
Apartment Therapy is a Great!
Cheating? How? 245 votes were removed from Urban Gardens--that means 245 people cheated?! How could that be? We had nothing to do with this, I don't even understand how it's possible for so many votes to be invalid. Can someone explain this?
I watched someone rise from 130s to 172 last night. Hopefully you ate on it apartment therapy.
@Urbangardens we use a variety of techniques to identify nominations/votes that do not appear to belong to a unique person and remove duplicate votes we believe were cast by a single person. So it doesn't mean hundreds of people cheated, it means one (or a few) people cheated hundreds of times. We don't disclose the specifics of the methods we use (to avoid attempts at circumvention), but we have a high degree of confidence that any votes removed were not cast in the spirit of the contest and respectful to its aims and to our community.
Also, regarding duplicate entries -- we do merge them when they appear, but it takes us some time to keep up with them all. If you see duplicate nominations floating for more than a few hours during business hours, please contact our editors. We will be sure to do a final review of all nominations before announcing official winners in each category.
@Brandy@MidCenturyModernLove thanks for the heads up - I've merged the two into one. Good luck!
Scott--thanks for explanation--I do not condone nor did I ever ask people to stuff votes. We do have 15K Twitter followers to whom we tweeted it out to asking them to vote and to share it--but it seems so hard to fathom that 270 votes were invalid. How could a just few people have placed so many invalid votes?
I know many followers and readers contacted me to say they couldn't figure out how to vote--guess they didn't scroll all the way down--I had to walk them through it. Many were at company offices, and they may have all voted from one computer--would those votes all be disqualified? (I know my own husband and 2 friends were here and couldn't figure it out so I showed them and they voted from one laptop. Would those then be disqualified because they were from same computer?) Even if that were the case--and many of those would really have been valid votes--still can't see how it could all add up to 270 invalid votes, that's a huge amount!
I have asked followers to please only vote once from one computer, but gosh, still hard to fathom over 270 invalid votes! Seems like many valid votes may have been removed and those folks took the time to register and vote.
@Urbangardens we are very confident that the removed votes were duplicate votes from a single source. It is very easy to create fake accounts in our system to vote with. We have added some constraints to the system to make this more difficult and in the future plan to add a verification step to accounts before voting is allowed in order to make ballot stuffing more laborious.
If you hear from anyone who has had trouble registering for an account or voting, please have them email help@apartmenttherapy.com with details of the problem they are experiencing including:
* the email address they registered with (or their display name if they registered with Facebook or Twitter and didn't provide an email address)
* the name and version of their web browser and operating system
* the IP address they voted from (can be found by visiting http://whatismyip.com )
* a specific description of the problem they experienced (what they did, what they expected to happen, what actually happened) including the text of error messages (if any), screenshots or other useful information to help us try to understand and reproduce the specific problem.
If we don't hear from people we can't investigate the nature of any specific problems and we haven't seen any evidence of genuine, widespread problems signing up or voting.
I voted for Retro Renovation.com ofcourse! Go Pam!!!!!!
Can you add:
http://valeriewills.blogspot.com/
Great use of space and color!
So many wonderful homey blogs here and now I am finding a ton of new ones!
This is VASTLY adding to my Bookmarks library. :)
Oh I just Voted for Queen without A Country my sister's Blog...We always dreamt of an Oscar in the family, But if we can't have that we'd love a HOMIE! Ohh what a dream come true...Help her make it up the list with more votes...Love this sight..I think you save Families one room at a time!
Scott--I am still getting many DMs and emails, even some calls, from people saying they can't figure out how to vote, or they can't find the register here button...I'm not sure what is going on at their end. It is still hard to believe there could possibly be so many invalid votes--that's a lot of people doing that--and I want it to be clear that I did not ever suggest people use multiple email addresses. However, I did not know before that different people could not cast valid votes from the same single computer. I see why that might appear like the same person just using different email addresses--but that can also disqualify some valid votes. I have advised people not vote from same computer, but wow it is now getting really complicated.
How do I place my vote for Retro Renovation?
@UrbanGardens we're happy to try to help anyone who contacts us at our help@apartmenttherapy.com email address if they're having trouble. Also, multiple people *can* use the same computer to vote with different accounts, but we monitor this sort of thing closely (one way is by looking for multiple votes from the same IP address) and will invalidate votes in cases where we are confident those votes are not coming from actual individual persons.
Why does this link, which is at the bottom of every page, not have Knock off wood. Perhaps posting an updated link at the bottom of the page would be helpful.
sharedesign.com - Share Design is the most amazing site - sharing the secrets, tips and 'how to' of the very best in design online. If you love Apartment Therapy (which we all do) then you will love this site. Miranda
With all due respect you are going to need to come up with a more effective fool proof system. I will expain why. In this office, there are 16 computers all using the same cable/network and therefore all share the same IP address. Many people voted for the same site and apparently many of those votes were removed. I don't think you are taking into account these kinds of scenarios. Not a big deal in the scheme of things but just wanted to let you know that this might be the case across the board more than you might think.
@TENNISHORSEFAN I agree. The same thing seemed to happen with us. We have four small businesses in the same building who were all voting for a friend - who also works with us in the building. I'm guessing for the people who lost 300 votes, it's a little different, but for the people who lost 20-40, that scenario would make sense. But like you said, not a big deal in the scheme of things.
I agree. I guess it's not ok to have tour co workers vote for you? Friends and family with the same ip address? What the heck. Apartment Therapy, how do you decide who is legit? I mean it seems to me that maybe you selected only a few to downgrade bc the tops are 'big blogs' and in all fairness you should have had rules written above voting they said one per ipaddress. How can teachers vote if they are all from the same network at school or at a large office?
Hey Scott, thank you for hosting this contest... Apartment Therapy is fabulous to begin with, and I love the collaborative spirit you're displaying by helping to raise up fellow design and decor blogs who are finding their audiences as we speak. A class move indeed, and not surprising at all coming from you guys. Bravo to the AT team as a whole from all of us at InteriorComplex.com and FurnitureFashion.com. You rock! :)
"How can teachers vote if they are all from the same network at school or at a large office?"
From home. And one vote per IP seems fair to all.

Nice words, I completely agree!

perfect!:)
Pretty sure the guys from A.T have a great system for figuring this stuff out.
Hi AT,
Could you please combine "TEOT- The Estate of Things" and "The Estate of Things" they are one and the same.
Thank you.
Kiki's Lisg is the best! Inno ative - fun - clever - a true designer. Thanks Krista
I may not make the list this year as I just started my blog Affordable Luxury a few months ago, but hopefully you'll love it... please come check it out! www.jws-interiors.com
Style North is a wonderful blog, not only for its style content, but also for the exceptional writing talent of Christopher Jones. He writes with skill, style and wit. You can see his journalism training has paid off. Canada, and the rest of the blogging community, is fortunate that he has applied his talent to design and that he has chosen to share it with us. Though this sounds trite, I savour reading a blog that does not contain spelling or typographical errors. Thank you, Chris, for your keen eye, your writing talent, and your enthusiasm.

Eagle's Nest - Fabulous!!
Sorry manhattan nest, had to vote for the brick. You both are great but you do not post often and I need my fix! so......Go Brown Town!
Manhattan Nest is definitely the best!
"maybe you selected only a few to downgrade bc the tops are 'big blogs' "
Huh? Maybe the blogs in top spot are actually "big" because they have many many devoted followers, and thus many many honest, dedicated votes? I've placed several votes all the way down the list, but Manhattan Nest and Chezerbey deserve to be where they are because they are both simply excellent, and they both have a huge fan base taking time to vote.
Just a recap when we had our meeting yesterday we discussed this briefly and it seems about 22 people voted and we noticed the two blogs we were rooting for lost about that many votes. Doesn't seem fair or right to me AT ALL. You need to come up with a more fool proof system as you cannot say just because 22 people happen to be on the same network their voices will not be heard. I think its something legitimate to consider, i know our office is one of many that has had this issue not to mention schools, hospitals,etc..other likely places that share the same network. So in the end, i am not totally confident these resutls are totally fair, accurate or indicative of the true votes. Just putting this out there.
@tennishorsefan But surely those 22 people have until midnight tonight to place a legitimate vote from home? I think it's expecting a bit much that rules cater to people accessing AT and voting on blog awards during working hours.
I vote for House of Smiths. This is a fantastic blog with so many creative ideas. Please vote for them.
I completely agree, Lynn. IF those who spent the first few days at the top of the voting list had been well established blogs, their supporters would have had plenty of time to "go home" and vote...especially if all 300 of them were from the same ip address. It would be have been easy to let everyone know "in the building" what happened and ask them to vote again from home. They would now be back on top. It's quite obvious what was happening and I admire AT for doing the right thing.
Yep, one of the things we're doing is limiting the number of votes that can come from a single IP address for any given blog. If you are unable to vote for a certain blog because your workplace uses a shared IP address, your best bet is to vote from home or another location. Unfortunately, it is impossible for us to verify any given IP address as a shared IP without an investigation. Our limits are adaptable and we try to keep them within reason to allow through what are likely legitimate votes. Also, when we review votes we can and do use other criteria to validate them.
One thing we've found is that a lot of people have contacted us trying to figure out how to vote. People don't have a problem logging in, but it would be nice to have the login at the top instead of having to have people scroll through 400 nominations to find small text where it says to do so. We had at least a dozen people ask us how to vote, and I'm sure others just didn't vote at all as a result. It might not of pushed us into the top 6, but people are busy and don't want to have to spend 5 minutes trying to figure it out so I'm certain we lost some would have been votes as a result. Would love to see that change next year and be a larger, more easy to find sign in link.
I voted for Decor Arts Now. The blog is great and Lynn is a good writer. She inspired me to start my own blog, which is very very new....
My blog is called Reposed-NY-blog.com
Lisa Fegley-Petti - Reposed NY
I've been following The House of Smiths, Thrifty Decor Chick and Home Stories of A to Z for a little over a year now- I'm the "visitor from Kennesaw" that has fallen in absolutely love with their style. Who knew there were so many, many other DIY Home Decorator sites. Gasping- How ever will I get any work done?
I just want to thank everyone that voted for The Design Junkie.
I am so grateful for this every year because it introduces me to so many new and fantastic sites! It is also so great to see so many of my friend's blogs nominated.
Thank you, Apartment Therapy for hosing this shin-dig.
Go Slim Paley!
I love Manhatten Nest, the Lettered Cottage, 7th House on the Left, Making It Lovely and Decor8. Good luck to all! Oh, and I especially love Apartment Therapy!
Hey thanks, TuckersSong! We sure do appreciate the e-love! :-D

SARAH FARRELL: The Estate of Things was merged. Thanks for the heads up! With the occasional alternative spellings, it's not always easy to find those that need to be merged, so your help is appreciated!
I'm signed in but can't find any way to vote.
@DMstudio you should see "vote" buttons next to each nomination above.
jonesdesign.com is the best! Love the tutorials!
Still disappointed in how the week started with those who stuffed their vote box with a few hundred bogus votes but the week is ending well.
Or they could have had legit businesses vote for them and the votes were flagged. I didn't see any rules suggest I couldn't have my entire construction team vote for our favorite blogger. We did so and had our contacts do the same. Too bad that the numbers won't show it!
What a lovely list! It could take me all weekend just to get to know some of the names I don't recognize. Fun.
I nominated Traci Zeller's blog but it never made the list? Wonder why? She is awesome.
http://tracizeller.com/blog/
I believe the gentleman from Destination Builders but I have seen proof and know this was not the case for one particular blog that lost almost 300 votes. They were beating the system for a time, but it backfired. It's convenient at this point for them to also claim ip overload was the culprit, but that was not the case. What's done is done at this point. I admire AT for the way they have handled this situation. I'm certain they have and will continued to fine tune their voting process. AT has done their job and done it well.
Thanks @PATINC I know one blog in particular was on top for a good while because my company, my contacts (other large companies in my industry) voted for them. Maybe other ways of confirmation should have gone out since AT didn't tell bloggers to have people/supporters (whether large or small quantities) to make sure they voted from different networks etc. I have a hard time believing that many votes are fake... They were several blogs that have said the same thing here. I respect the contest, it's why I had my entire team vote. But going forward, we hope things get resolved bc it seems like everyone rose fast but only few fell.
Thank you, Apartment Therapy, for adding my blog to this great list of bloggers. I just found out it was here tonight.
Teresa

Wow, I am just so thrilled to be here, to be nominated, and to be a finalist, truly such an amazing thing to witness, thank you thank you to all the kind people who voted for CG - and thank you Apartment Therapy for introducing all of us to some pretty amazing blogs.
Best,
Kate
so, did anyone count the number of blogs entered? just curious.
How can i vote ??? my vote goes to Fatou bah because she inspire people.

Pretty sure A.T got it right.
A few of the blogs that were in top place that lost a few hundred votes a few days ago only managed to gain back about 13 votes in a 48 hour period. If they were really that popular a blog they would have continued to gain a lot more votes in that time.
Thanks A.T for the competition, always fun to find some new blogs to check out!
Some great new blogs finally getting recognition. There must be a bruised ego right now in Houston. Glad to know the "design" blogs are doing so well and that the "download" real estate reviewer needs to work harder.
Thanks for the votes to my newer blog! I appreciate anyone that took a gander also just to check me out! Now I have to go kiss some babies since I got their votes :)
Melissa at A Place to Nest
mom2will.blogspot.com
@scotttrudeau, thanks for stating the obvious. The site is obviously set up for specific browsers, if there had been a vote button visible (on safari) there wouldn't have been a question. In the end I decided I really didn't care enough to download another browser to vote. This contest, as with most of AT's contests seems poorly managed.
Wow, I can't believe that someone would cheat. Is the prize really that great?
@DMSTUDIO we tested our system on multiple browsers and haven't been able to reproduce the problem you described with Safari. In the future, if you encounter problems like these on our site we appreciate reports of these problems (with as many supporting details you might provide) via email to: help@apartmenttherapy.com
@DMSSTUDIO, the contest is not obviously set up only for certain browsers. I'm on Safari and the voting buttons have always shown up for me. And for someone who professes not to care that much your comment sounds awfully pouty.
Dear Apartment Therapy -
I just wanted to say that I am so very humbled to be included with the bloggers on this list. Thank you so much for hosting this contest and for allowing us crazies to be mingled in with the great blogs out there!
xo - kb
p.s. next year can y'all have a best crafting category? I would love to add some more crafty blogs to my reader :)
@SUNSETSANDSWIMMINGPOOLS, I feel the same way about bacon bits substitutes :)
I have never heard of Bower Power. How can they have not been featured on AT before? hopefully that oversight it remedied quickly!
I have tried to vote in Firefox, Chrome, and IE, on both a PC and a Mac. No vote buttons. Tried logging in and logging out of AT. What's the problem?
Why has the survey ended when it isn't Fri March 9 at 3pm EST for hours and hours yet??
Yes, why has it ended? Seems terribly unfair!
I'm trying to vote, however I can't, even though it isn't friday 3 pm yet. My vote goes to Manhattan nest!!!
Who ended the contest so early?!? and why?
Hey, "this survey is ended": WHY? - it should have hours to go! A bit unfair to the last-minute voters who could have changed the situation! How is this an honest poll?
I hope you'll add an extra day onto the voting to make up for everything that's been lost since the survey was accidentally ended at 3AM instead of 3PM. :(
Good point Anna, an additional day is called for.
Also LOVED your support for Manhattan Nest on Doorsixteen! It IS quite amazing, everything that Daniel has accomplished, on his own, without sponsors/advertising, without reposting others ideas etc and you expressed it so well. "WWDD", exactly!
Yes, the lost time has to be added or its really unfair.
"Voting ends on Friday, March 9th at 3pm est."
Why is it closed already?
Glad to see voting has been reopened, but it was accidentally closed for a full 7 hours. Will the contest be extended by 7 hours to make up the difference?
I'm sorry to get quibbly about this, but it was really disappointing to have this error happen right on the heels of my last-day "get out the vote" campaign for Manhattan Nest!
@12ashley My sentiments exactly.
I'm so confused! One day I look and Bower Power is taking it, then the next day I look and Manhattan Nest is back on top (where it should be in my humble opinion) Where is the most accurate updated list? Each link I find searching on this site for Homies 2012 shows something totally different!
Manhattan Nest!!! Go!!!
You have the D16 Dots behind you!!
As much as I <3 ManNest, Daniel doesn't post as much as he did last year, maybe 4 times a month on avg now? No way Jose. Nothing compared to BowerPower and Centsational Girl, even tho his genius ideas still dominate my pins (yay cornstarh+fabric wall coverings!)
@sunsets and swimming pools Yes, indeed, ad free, original and SPONSOR-free, which makes him THE winner in my books. I've always found Bower Power an unattractive blog visually, and way too commercial.
Not happy with this outcome at all. :-(
Wow, the level of whining on behalf of the noms seems really childish and petty. Hopefully, the losing noms themselves will act with a tad more class when the winner is eventually announced.
As someone else asked, what's the prize? I'm curious about what would elicit such cries of injustice.
I checked out the 4 or 5 design blogs that were on top a few days ago, including Bower Power. Just looked again, and still not seeing it.
I gotta laugh at the level of shade here (and elsewhere) at the writing quality of the winner as though mediocre writing was some kind of novelty in the shelter blogging world, which it most certainly is not. It's pretty much the standard. Are there shelter blogs out there with fantstic writing? Yes, but not among this batch of finalists The top finalists all feature bland, clunky writing (in my opinion) and that's fine. I don't seek out shelter blogs to read quality writing but to get inspired and that mostly comes via the photos.
I thought Bower Power was more "mommy" blog than "home design"....
Bower Power & Manhattan Nest: 2 great blogs, 2 COMPLETELY different, 180 degree styles. The results were super close (what 200-300 points?).
I read both blogs on a daily basis; I like Manhattan Nest's general interior style and humor, and I like Bower Power for the fact that she posts almost on a daily basis, and although her style is more comfy cozy and less modern and sleek, I still look at a few things she does and think "Oh I never thought to do that".
Let's all agree that they are both great blogs: they both work their butt off to provide us with interior design inspiration and something to read in the morning with our coffee! Congrats to all the contestants.
Bower Power is a mommy blog. Nothing wrong with it, but it shouldn't have won in the design category.
@MsHannahNV--well said! No need to tear down the winner just because they weren't one of your favorites. Whatever happened to good sportsmanship?
Congrats to Katie Bower and all the other finalists....great job!!
I really don't understand this need to criticize and trash-talk the nominees and winners. Nobody campaigned for Daniel harder than I did, but I like to think I did it without negativity toward the other contenders. The six blogs that made the finals were there because lots of people like them—period.
Congratulations to ALL of the winners and the nominees.
a gree with the poster-not a home design blog at all
I'm sure Bower Power is very nice, and she apparently makes lots of people chortle with delight, but wow, the results are kind of surprising. And while it's true that this isn't exactly a pressing issue or even a meaningful contest, I don't see what's wrong with expressing surprise that AT's Best Design Blog seems to be more about buying stuff at Lowe's to furnish your McMansion. There are design blogs out there that are actually about good design, is all I'm saying.
Congrats to the winner!!! Bower Power won me over when KB responded hilariously to one of their bitterlicious haters in the comment section. LOL. That was awesome, funny and super classy.
I agree with the criticism of Bower Power, it seems so far off from Apartment Therapy's ethos.
Checked out Bower Power. After seeing the understandable celebratory post about winning the Homie, I scroll down. Hmmm... About 40 pregnancy photos, same # of infant photos, more studio shots of pregnancy. I go to a rehab link about redoing a vanity.... Hmmm. Process photos, including, yep, the kid. What the...?
The narcissism of this blog way outweighs any design content-wise. No thanks.
Kind of disappointed... I was cheering and still I am for APETITPOIS design blog which is a small, cute, french/english design blog and most important, AD/SPONSOR FREE! And we end up with a mummy super commercial blog. Bouuuuh.
But thanks anyway for this opportunity to see all this new blogs! And wouaou there are a lot...
Check it out, http://apetitpoisdesign.blogspot.com.au/ It should have win!
(Laughing at all the seriousness of the thing. Hihi. Love it!)
Congrats to the Bowers and all the nominees! This contest is a great way to get exposed to some new design ideas: I've already checked out several of the nominated blogs that I'd never heard of before.
I don't understand at all why a blog with ads or sponsors would be inferior to one that doesn't accept advertising! Bloggers work hard to give us content that interests or inspires. Why shouldn't they be compensated for their labor?
Bower Power----all I can think is that they have a ton of friends and relatives. Boring baby stuff. Sorry! Not a design blog.
manhattan nest was robbed!!
Seriously? And I thought Apartment Therapy readers were more, well...hip. I can't get past the 85 kid pictures per day to see that this is any kind of home design blog. Least common denominator is what I would call this contest.
I really wish the moderators would delete these nasty comments about the winners. It's really unpleasant to read.
AT, please clean up the comments a bit. In particular, the one from HEREIGO should be deleted. It is inappropriate for that comment to have been approved and for it to remain in this section.
This was fun and I got to know some new blogs. Nice job Apartment Therapy...I know it wasn't easy. Looking forward to next year.
Quite a mixed list, but it's good to see some smaller sites getting exposure!

This design is spectacular! You obviously know how to keep a reader entertained. Between your wit and your videos, I was almost moved to start my own blog (well, almost…HaHa!) Wonderful job. I really enjoyed what you had to say, and more than that, how you presented it. Too cool!

Is it too early to nominate for 2013? I am nominating my blog, which has nothing to do with interior design and everything to do with designing your home. These are two different things, but I surely fit the criteria of a home design blog.
Here it is: www.house-design-coffee.com
