Let's rewind to the summer and mentally visit Sage's first birthday party. Joelle shares: The theme was a Picnic Party, and I collected various patterns of red and white fabric to make table cloths, a flag bunting, and picnic blankets for the lawn. Turquoise was thrown in as a fun accent colour.
The invitations were created by myself (I run a graphic design studio, inBloom Studio) and for additional decor and a personal touch, I created a hanging photo gallery with a photo of Sage from each month of her first year.
The food was typical picnic fare - hamburgers, chicken burgers, potato salad and watermelon salad too. Fresh berries, pie, cupcakes, and a beautiful cake made by my sister were dessert.
To top off the fun, there was also swimming, trampolining, a jumping castle (an acquaintance just happened to have one sitting in a box her garage!), stripey straws, and a popcorn machine. Overall it was a really fun, low-key, picnic-y party!
Thanks Joelle! Readers, if you missed it, check out Sage's beautiful room. You can also see many more photos of her party here.
