Best Kids Parties: Ahoy! A Nautical Theme

My Party

Name: Jack (1)
Location: Silver Spring, MD

We were looking forward to celebrating our son's first birthday party - to celebrate his first year of life, our first year as parents and to thank all our family and friends for all their support.

We wanted to make our party casual and with a bit of summer in the midst of winter. His bedroom is a modern nautical theme and so we used pictures from his room and worked with Yeri Yun Designs to create a postcard invitation and drive the theme for our party decor. We used all our own items to decorate. Using our life vests, buoys, rope, our nautical maps, shells, and even the sail from our sailboat strung up on the ceiling. We served good cheese, fruit, champagne and a fruit punch in addition to frosted cupcakes and sugar cookies.

We were fortunate to have a dear friend who is a professional photographer come and take pictures for us so we didn't miss any part of the special occasion.

It was a great time for all to enjoy the company and camaraderie and to celebrate our Jack!

Thanks Joannah and Chris! Readers, see more of Jack's party at Felicia Gwen Photography.
