Long Beach, CA
We threw our daughter Carys an Alice in Wonderland inspired tea party for her 4th birthday. It was all very girly since this was her first party with only girls invited.
I tried to stay on a budget by looking for good deals and going to the thrift store. The party was held on our backyard patio. The colors were dark pink, light pink, orange, and light yellow. The table was decorated with white and pink polka dotted fabric and a felt pink table runner from the thrift store. Of course every seat had a tea cup with each girl's name, which was their favor also.
We served kid-friendly tea sandwiches (grilled cheese and strawberry cream cheese/banana), carrot sticks with ranch dressing, sticky buns from Costco, and of course birthday cake and sugar cookies that said "Eat Me."
For the activity the girls decorated hats from Halo Heaven and wore them at the table. Other touches were paper lanterns of varying size, wood signs pointing different ways, playing card garland, and chairs decorated with tulle and ribbon. The adorable invites were done by Joy Sexton Design.
Thanks Kathy! Readers, see more of this party on Carys & Charlie.
