This party was so fun to put together for my daughter Bella because it is something we are all passionate about: books and reading! 

This was a very inexpensive party to throw, using books on hand for most of the decorations, as well as a few children's books from Goodwill that I used for pennant banners and the invitations. I printed some Kindergarten-level word searches and some Dr. Seuss coloring pages to keep the kids busy while we waited for all of the guests to arrive. I also put out some scrabble tiles and they had fun spelling words while they waited.

For games we played a 'Book Treasure Hunt' with clues leading from story to story, made bookmarks, and played a book version of a cakewalk. In lieu of a gift, I asked parents to bring a wrapped book for a book exchange. When the kids' book was called in the cake walk, they each got to select a book! 

Favors included bookplates, "book worms" and Dr. Seuss pencils from Amazon, along with the book they chose.
