To celebrate Pryor's first birthday we threw him an all American, Bruce Springsteen themed bash! Born in the U.S.A. a year ago today!
We are obviously huge Springsteen fans so the planning and execution was so much fun. We live in Brooklyn but we couldn't throw a Springsteen party there and we were lucky enough to host the party at my parent's beach house in Jersey!
We decorated with red, white and blue Chinese lanterns and a homemade "Happy Birthday" banner. I blew up Pryor's album cover invitation for people to sign and wish him happy thoughts.
For food we had "Big Man" burgers to honor Clarence Clemons, "Corn to run", "10th Avenue freeze Pops" (bomb pops), "4th of July/Sandy" fruit skewers that resembled the American flag and "Stone Pony" pasta salad. My father would always play his "Bruce Juice" in the car so to honor that I made a red, white and blue layered punch. I made a red, white and blue cake and a small "smash " cake for Pryor, which he loved!
Of course we played Bruce Springsteen throughout the party and all the babies went home with a Born in the U.S.A onsie tied off with a red bandana. Everyone had a blast.
