Name: 4 Year Old Boy
Anyone who knows my son knows that chocolate is one of his favorite things in the whole world. Well, cars, keys, phones, and anything with buttons to push. And chocolate. Birthdays are supposed to be about favorite things, right? So a chocolate party it had to be.
We originally wanted to do individual chocolate fondues, but my trial run was a total failure. The small tea lights heat them so much that the chocolate scorches instead of just melting. So it had to be Plan B - a chocolate fountain. Seven kids and a chocolate fountain, hmmmmm.... it worked amazingly well! We had cookies, grapes, bananas, and, as a special treat, strawberries they could dip.
For goodie bags we had some books about chocolate, handmade felt chocolate, and homemade chocolate bar with sprinkles and some classic party toys thrown in for good measure.
Decorations were also simple - balloons, handsewn star garlands and some streamers.
We didn't plan any activities, figuring the chocolate fountain would be enough to keep them busy for a while, and the remaining time really flew by with opening presents and just playing. The house was a mess and pretty much every toy dumped out, but they had so much fun.
