Best Kids Parties: Circus

My Party

Name: Dinah, 4
Location: San Antonio, TX

Although Dinah's circus-themed party was planned a bit last minute it came together wonderfully thanks to the help of some fabulous friends and family!

Most of my prep time went toward graphics for the invites, photo booth props and circus tickets (not pictured). I printed off copies of vintage circus stamps to glue to the envelopes. Dinah chose a handful of friends from church/preschool to invite and she loved going door-to-door to deliver them in person.

I borrowed a bean-bag toss game and another mommy friend did face-painting. We had a box of dress-ups and various props next to our photo booth spot, including a funky gold frame my friend got for a buck at a craft store way back when! Dinah's auntie made an awesome circus-inspired rainbow layered cake topped with a train and a bunting I'd made before that matched the photo booth backdrop.

We all had a blast but the pay-off was watching our little girl's face light up as she was clearly having the time of her life! This was our first "friend party" and there were a lot of 3-year-olds running around. Dinah has a two-month old brother and 21-month-old sister so I was a little reluctant to take this on, but it worked out thanks to the help of three other moms, my husband and a radical aunt and uncle!

Thanks, Liz!
