My daughter requested a "doctor party" for her 5th birthday earlier this year. I tried to find other party inspiration out there, but didn't have too much luck. We ended up making it sort of a red and white old-school infirmary theme--which she and her friends loved.

We also found a pair of pink scrubs for her to wear during the party, which thrilled her pink-loving heart to no end.

Using cardboard boxes, we fashioned an ambulance using white contact paper and red duct tape. We had a red flashing light (left over from last year's police party!) that sat right on top. We also hung up a white sheet and affixed a red duct tape cross on it for wall decor. I cut out a bunch of red crosses from construction paper and hot glued them to a string for a festive garland.

Guests all wore surgical masks and doctor or nurse name tags. I transformed empty bottles into pretend medicine bottles with more of the white contact paper and red tape. I also stocked a table with real band-aids, cottons swabs, and other fun supplies for the kids to treat their stuffed animals and dolls.

There was a waiting area complete with a stack of doctor-themed library books for the kids to enjoy when not busy treating a patient. For games, we played "Pin-the-Cross-on-the-Nurse's-Hat" which was invented by the birthday girl! We passed out tiny first aid kits as party favors.

Overall, the kids had a great time - especially, the birthday girl!
