After long discussions my daughter and I came to a mutual understanding that her birthday party theme would be fairytale/forest-y/Pet Shop, a mash-up of everything to keep both mother and daughter happy.
After a trip to IKEA, a green Hampen bathmat was the inspiration for most of the decor - the bathmat was cut into three even strips and placed as a runner on the table, a little bit woodsy and reminded me of grass. DIY projects included paper flowers in the chandelier and butterflies placed on the straws. Most of the decorations came from IKEA so it should be easy access for most that want to get some similar things.
