Best Kids' Parties: Fantastic Mr. Fox

My Party

Name: Elliott, 1
Location: Perth, West Australia

I began thinking about the invitation for Elliot's first birthday party long before anything else. I was inspired by photos of woodland themed parties. I began drawing woodland creatures until I came up with a sweet little fox wearing a party hat. Hence the fox theme for my son's birthday was born.

I designed the invitation and it is now a popular seller in my Etsy shop, particularly for little boys parties. I bought a fox t-shirt for Elliot to wear at his party by b.childrenswear. The kids were given a felt fox party crown as they arrived and they all looked so sweet.

The menu was simple as their were lots of little babies at the party. As well as the standard party fare (party pies, sausage rolls and quiche) I cut sandwiches into the shape of oak leaves and acorns. I made acorn and number 1 shaped biscuits to continue the woodland theme. Chocolate milk was served in glass milk bottles with blue paper straws. The cake was a three layer vanilla cake with buttercream icing.

As favors I gave out Fantastic Mr. Fox sticker books, crayon rolls made from woodland patterned fabric and acorn shaped cookies. I wrapped them all in brown paper and tied them with twine.
