Best Kids Parties: Firemen

My Party

Name: William (5)
Location: Toronto, Canada

For his fifth birthday party, my son William got it in his head that he wanted a fireman party. After much googling and Pinteresting (is that a verb now too?) I found some great inspiration, ideas and resources.

The cupcake wrappers were from Spaceships and Laser Beams, an amazing "no princess zone" Etsy shop full of amazing ideas and supplies for boys parties. The rest I made in Illustrator or Photoshop, including the images of Will wearing full fireman gear. (One of the images was from a dating website, but I didn't realize that until later...) The rest of the supplies were picked up at a dollar store, and luckily the boys had plenty of toy firetrucks around to use as decor.

For games, we played pin-the-tail-on-the-Dalmatian (the prize being a 101 Dalmatian book of course), hot potato (from a burning building) and freeze dance (un-related to the theme but a good way to focus their energy!). I also had planned a relay race in the backyard where they would pass each other a pair of my rubber boots, a fireman hat, and a big pail, but the weather did not cooperate. Luckily his birthday is near Hallowe'en and everyone was able to leave wearing a fireman's hat and with colouring pages and activity books provided by the local fire station.
