Name: Penny (1)
Location: Nashville, TN
Kevin and Mimi are big fans of vintage horror films, and they jokingly call their daughter Penny their "little monster," so they thought a Godzilla-themed party would be a fun, unique way to mark Penny's first birthday.
The invitation is reminiscent of a movie poster, with a toddler silhouette replacing the iconic Godzilla figure, and the Nashville skyline for a touch of personalization. We made a banner that gave a nod to the Japanese flag, with lettering in the "Godzilla" font spelling "Penzilla."
The food was loosely themed around Godzilla and his radioactivity/atomic fire breath. "Atomic Chicken" was really hot chicken, a Nashville specialty (we also had a non-spicy version for the kiddos). "Chopped sticks" were just crudite and ranch dip in individual cups. We also had peanut butter and jelly "sushi" (PB&J and bread rolled and sliced), Godzilla egg cake pops, and a watermelon carved into a Godzilla (or a dinosaur, depending on whom you ask) head and filled with cut fruit.

Hahaha I love it!
This is awesome! Great first birthday theme.
This is SO cute and funny! The watermelon came out excellent and I love that invitation! :)
Hey Godzilla teaches good parenting skills too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CP8ijCqQc4c ;)
In all seriousness, I think I would've taken this a step further and made costumes and stuff for the kids. Kind of like this: http://www.shrineofgamera.com/images/yuasa_tigor1999.jpg (though that's actually a Gamera monster - Guiron but you get the idea)
Laughed at the invite. Very cute.
Aw, nice shot of her biting the cardboard building. This is all kinds of amazing.
Everything about this is so right!
I think even older kids could enjoy this. I know this older kid would! :o)
Very cool!
LOVE IT! I'm gonna train my boy now to love Godzilla so I can throw one of these parties one day.
Wow, so creative, good job! Love those banners, giving me a great idea for next birthday bash.
Brilliant! Best party I've seen in awhile!
Love, love, love.
Love this!
