For Emma´s first birthday we decided to make a small but special party with the few friends we have here in Germany, since we had just moved here in January.
The theme was hearts, mostly because I love the shape. The colors used were Rosa, Pink and Burgundy. All the decorations for the party were hand-made. We hung balloons from the ceiling which Emma and the other babies at the party loved, as they hanged just at the right height for them to play with.
We had a great time, enjoyed a nice sunny day and Emma really loved her first birthday cake!!

cute! down balloons are the new up balloons, with the helium shortage. lippman party co was going to charge me $17.50/balloon to fill up five of shop sweet lulu's giant balloons last week. so instead, we had those giant balloons hanging from the apple tree branches for my daughter's birthday. just as good :)

Love the idea of hanging balloons upside down! So much easier than helium! I also love the heart theme, I had never thought of shapes as a theme but I'm thinking maybe a star party would be really cute.
Isn't rosa the same as pink? Anyway, I love the colors against the white, and the hanging balloons are really nice. Cute idea!
