Best Kids' Parties: Icy Winter

My Party

Name: Kai, 1
Location: Southern California

My son's birthday is right around Christmas and it's really tough to throw a celebration without any red or green but we managed. I loved how it turned out. We went for an icy winter theme over the usual jingle bells, and the blue tones were perfect for my little man.

The invites had wintry snowflakes and calligraphy. Extras doubled as fun table decor when folded over. There was a kids' chocolate milk bar and balloon wall backdrop. The rock candy was, needless to say, a big hit. And of course there were snowflake cookies, a fabulous cake and personal-sized mini cakes to match. Each of these put a sweet finishing touch on a fabulous day.

When Dabney's not writing around here, she's digging through other people's attics for fun and interesting stuff, or running around with her bloodhound Friday. Originally from the East Coast, she's still shocked to find herself living in Missouri.
