Name: Lala, 4
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Ever since my daughter was introduced to Lalaloopsies in December of last year, she has been hooked! I love the look of the environments in which the characters live; it really lends itself to having a handmade look. I didn’t realize just how deep I would get into hand making everything. I went a little Lala handmade crazy.
Every year I design her invitations and then move on to creating the rest of the party.
As soon as I started with the pom garlands I was in Lala fever. I then made two giant ribbon chandeliers out of hulahoops. My daughters birthday is Earth Day so a garden party became the secondary theme to the party. So, of course, we made handmade Lalaloopsy flowers.
Each child also enjoyed planting flower seeds and playing garden games like horse shoes, lawn tic tac toe (made from flowers and yarn) and bean bag toss.
The individual birthday cake and cupcakes were made by combining both Lalaloopsy and garden party themes.
I am an environmental designer and, when it comes to goodie bags, I really never like to give out “throwaway gifts” so I made flower headbands, shirt pins, pom pom necklaces and flowered bobby pots that can be treasured long after her party has ended.
