Best Kids Parties: Lalaloopsy

My Party

Name: Emily (4)
Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado

My daughter chose to do her 4th birthday in a Lalaloopsy theme. She loves the little button eyed dolls and bright colors. I have to admit that I think they are fun and cute too, so I was super excited to plan this party for her.

For the past two months leading up to her birthday I visited craft supply stores in search of colorful items and all things buttons. It was actually quite easy to find things, especially since it is summer. I bought a lot of items either in the dollar bins or in the clearance section. One of my favorite dollar items were the colorful doilies that I strung with a measuring tape.

I made cupcakes and button cookies from a recipe I saw on Pinterest. I saved myself time and bought a store bought white plain cake and just added the Peanut Big Top topper, sprinkles and candies. I have never been great at baking cakes especially since we are high altitude.

We played two games, Hoop Toss and Pass the Button (hot potato). The party guests each glued on buttons to a wooden frame and took those home. Each guest was given a favor bag that included, Lalaloopsy markers, notepad, stickers, bubbles, measuring tape, and candy buttons.

The best part was how excited my daughter was when she saw me put it all together. She said to me, "wow this is amazing mommy!"
