Best Kids Parties: Pink Backyard

My Party

Name: Ruby, 1
Location: Fayetteville, AR

After years of throwing boy birthday parties (I have 3 boys and a girl), I was so excited to throw an all pink birthday party for our daughter, Ruby.

For her first party we had all of our family and friends over for a backyard grill out/swim/play party. I decorated with pink, pink and more pink. We hung small christmas lights on our porch since the party was in the evening. I draped pink fabric over all of the tables. The gift table was layered with pink fabric, pink gingham fabric & a scrap fabric bunting. I served pink treats that the guests could help themselves to.

For favors, I used baby food jars, with lids spray painted ballet slipper pink and decorated with ribbon. I filled them with pink & red starbursts. I hung pink pom pom garlands and a torn fabric garland as a backdrop for her high chair. I love how that turned out! I had a journal set out for guests to write sweet messages or blessings for Ruby. I took one photo from each of her one month photo shoots and hung them by little clothespins on pink yarn over the food table. It was such a sweet night celebrating our sweet daughter.

Thanks, Sara! For tons of photos and more information, visit Sara's blog post all about the party.
