I am a mom to five boys, and Silver, our only daughter just turned one! Needless to say, I got very excited about planning a 'girl' party!
I didn't want it to be overly 'girly' but stylishly sweet & feminine. The inspiration came while perusing a local second hand shop. I spotted two rolls of aqua and white stripe wrapping paper which I KNEW would be the color theme for her party! (And a steal!! each roll was only .25 each!)
I started making the paper pinwheels, and added a splash of pink and mustard to compliment the color arrangement. Coordinating cupcake paper flags and covered water bottles tied the party together at no cost, and a minimal amount of time. My father-in-law cut the log stump, which I used as a cake platform. The glass jars were collected over the past few months, recycled here for drinking glasses. The striped paper straws I found at a local paper shop, Social Graces.
