What's that they say about the best laid parties of mice and men? Amber shares details of her daughter's beautiful party: After our initial plans for a party in the park got rained out, we squeezed 40 of our closest friends and family into our small inner-city townhouse.
Theme: Pretty in Pink. We wanted something simple and sweet, but not too cutesy. Since this was Eva's 1st birthday, I thought of this as a chance to plan something a little more chic before she begins to request princess cakes or Elmo paper plates.
Food: We served afternoon tea with mini raspberry tarts, mini scones with jam and cream, a variety of open sandwiches, cookies, pink lemonade, tea and coffee, and raspberry and rosewater cupcakes in lieu on a birthday cake.
Decorations: Rather than hanging paper lanterns and pom poms from tree branches, we clustered them together over our dinning room table. We also set up a photo booth using "fringey streamers" as a backdrop and fun props from the Etsy store Little Retreats.
Despite having to relocate the party at the last minute, it was perfect.
