Best Kids Parties: Princess

My Party

Name: Chole, 4
Location: Toronto, CN

Chloe loves all things princess so we dreamed up a royal celebration for her and ten of her friends.

The princesses arrived dressed in their finest attire. We just finished our basement renovation so I set up different stations around the large space. There was a colouring station and a crown making station where the girls and their moms could get crafty. I also set up a little table and chairs for Cinderella's Beauty Salon. The girls loved getting a sparkle nail polish manicure, some princess tattoos and accessorizing with dollar store rings and candy necklaces. And tucked under our basement stairs, we have a playhouse that has a magnetic wall. I put magnetic dress up princesses on the wall. It turned out to be great spot for some of the shyer kids to escape the party chaos and play quietly.

Crowned and bejewelled, the princesses then made their way upstairs to the grand surprise: Princess Chloe's castle. My husband (an intern architect) and I crafted a giant castle out of cardboard boxes. It had turrets and arched windows, pencil-drawn bricks, and a drawbridge. Chloe's bedroom is currently being repainted so we put it into the empty room. We already had paper covering the floors so we added on a stone walkway and moat around the castle too. The girls just loved it!

After all the fun, we enjoyed a light feast of fruit cups, veggies, cheese, and pizza. I set up a Royal Refreshment Station with pink lemonade and juice for the girls and carbonated juice and soda for the adults. Chloe loved her frilly chocolate-raspberry cake which I topped with princess dolls and washi tape bunting.

Then we sent her friends home with goodie bags filled with fairy tale finger puppets, chocolate gold coins (royal treasure!) and a sparkly gold wand. It was a perfect day for our little princess.

Thanks, Jennifer!
