We had a reduce, reuse, recycle theme for my daughter's birthday party. The invitations were printed on recycled paper that had seeds made into it and when planted would grow flowers. We had our local recycling center mascot "super can" there and really focused on an environmental friendly party.
We used all recycled partywear, had no drinks in plastic bottles, and everything had a 2nd use (like the paper table cloth on the kids' table had crayons on it so they could color it). I made flowers for decor out of old magazines and used paper bags and cut up plastic shopping bags for the birthday signs. It was fun and the kids had a blast :)

I see this theme working really well for an eleven-twelve year old intent on saving the world. Seems a little low on the fun factor, except Mr Supercan of course, for two year old guests, but I do think parties carried out with the environment in mind are to be commended.
i do like the party favor bags, seeds and recycled products. I think I would/should incorporate these ideas into the party. but i need more decorating or games, even a cake picture?? good start !
This was a great party theme! I love the favor bags, seed invites and recycled decorations! I remember when I was young the best parties were just getting to play around with my friends, and eating good food. I think sometimes we feel like we have to do an overkill on parties to make them worthwhile ( I know I still have trouble doing that with my kids! ). Something simple, memorable and earth friendly like this is awesome!
what a great theme! the best parties are the laid back ones where kids get to play! 2 year olds usually dont cooperate with a bunch of games anyway.
Great job!
We also had musical instruments made out of all kinds of pre-used containers filled with varies objects to make different noises and old coffee cans to use as drums. We have a swing set and trampoline as well so that kept the kids pretty occupied. I agree that the older the kids get the more you have to have to entertain them but the group of 2 year old we had had a blast :)
I feel funny about the "dating" t-shirt.
Great party theme but maybe a little too serious for a 2 year old! while its great to inculcate these habits early on into our kids, i feel this is a bit much as a theme!
and i do feel funny about the "dating" t-shirt as well.
