Name: "Peep" (2)
Location: Indiana
Remember Peep's Goodnight Moon party from last year? Well for her second birthday, we had another book-themed party - Cars and Trucks and Things That Go, by Richard Scarry.
The invitations featured her favorite mode of transportation, a mail truck. We transformed the dining room into a landing strip with planes and helicopters dangling from the chandelier. I sewed a birthday banner and pillow covers out of Busytown fabric.
The food was inspired by all the silly cars in the books - apples, carrots, bananas, hot dogs, pickles, and cheese. And speaking of cheese, the cake was a cheese car with marzipan mice sticking out of the top and side.
Our busy girl loved the party, but to be honest, her favorite part was spending time with her family. Atta girl, Peep!
Such fun - thanks Julie!

Shaw's Original Fir...
I love Busytown Mysteries. I think I like it more than my kids. Maybe I can convince one of them to let me throw them a party like this.
so sweet, that was one of my favourite books when I was a kid. Is Peep her real name? I love it!
Perfect timing! My son has requested a Busytown/Richard Scarry party this year! Nicely done!!
Peep is her nickname! But thank you for loving it. It was the first thing I said to her when she was born.
That cake is beyond awesome.
