Name: Holden (2)
Location: Brooklyn, NY
The moment Holden picked up his ukulele and stuck a harmonica in his mouth, we knew we had a tiny Bob Dylan on our hands. Naturally, the next logical step was to convert our building's lounge into a rock club for his 2nd birthday party!
Holden's favorite music teacher, John Carlin of The Kids Music Underground, was coming to perform so we created a kid-friendly stage area complete with theater curtain (rented from Rose Brand), custom music-themed posters designed and illustrated by us (including our own version of Milton Glaser's famous Dylan illustration), prop guitars and a Fender amp.
Club-goers were given "admit one, age two" wristbands upon entering the party (designed by us), and VIP family wore laminated all-access passes (also designed by us). The Dylan poster art appeared again on yet another cake crafted by the talented crew at Betty Bakery, and Holden's lil rockstar buddies left the show with branded harmonicas as favors (harmonica labels also designed by us!).
Thanks Lori & Matthew! Readers, see more of Holden's rockin' party at Two Plus Us.

Shaw's Original Fir...
Wow, look at that cake!
Awesome cake! very cute
That cake is stunning! As much as I love cake, I would hate to cut into that beautiful work of art.
He holds the guitar backwards. Cute.
Be sure to post pictures of him on his 24th birthday after he passes his CPA exam.
it's going to be difficult to top it up next year, and the year after this, etc.
@gigi004 ha ha that was funny but probably so true.
So adorable but feel tired just thinking about the amount of work you put into that.
Fantastic cake! love the posters and entry badges.
GREAT IDEAS LOVE THE ART WORK!
I agree with tallsarah. I would have a real hard time cutting into that cake :) Looks like a party that could really be enjoyed by both the kids and their parents.
where did you get the harmonicas? We are doing a music party for my daughter's 5th (albeit without the cool posters and probably a grocery store cake) and I'd love to get the kids real instruments that they can actually sort of play.
@EK76 - I ordered them on Amazon... got a 12-pack (so each unit was slightly discounted), plus one extra since we had 13 little ones attend the party. They are called "Clearly Colorful Translucent Harmonica" by Hohner Kids. GREAT quality. They come individually packaged in the clear plastic sleeve and we designed the insert ourselves, printed them at home, and slipped them into the sleeves. Voila! They were a HUGE hit with the kids, and so much better than a more disposable kind of party favor which I find to be a waste of money. Have a wonderful party!! -Lori
the details of this party are unbelievable! wow! everything looks professional.
cute kid, too :)
as a big party planner, i love this. it came out looking really professional, and that poster is fantastic. happy to read more positive comments than negative for a change. i'm so tired of all the haters on at.
