Name: Serenity (4)
Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma
Serenity's fourth birthday was a Sparkly Science Party! Her favorite thing about preschool was science days, and adding sparkles to science made it the perfect party for her!
We made glittery volcanoes, glitter jars, and did the famous Mentos and Diet Coke experiment! Instead of just Diet Coke, we made it prettier by testing it with orange soda and Cherry 7-Up as well! We also used droppers of colored vinegar to play with baking soda. Even the food was an experiment: pancakes with test tubes filled with seven different syrups to mix!
Every child got their own lab coat, magnifying glass, safety glasses, and ID badge that I made in Photoshop! It was so much fun, the birthday girl started experimenting as soon as she woke up and didn't stop the whole day long! And she still asks to do experiments. Hurray for Science!

You know you are a nerd when: The first thing you notice in a birthday party photo is that they are wearing safety glasses but no shoes.
What did you use for a frame for the photo back drop?
You know you are a nerd when: You see that they named their kid "Serenity", and you wonder if they were "Firefly" fans.
I love this idea! Bring on the academic birthday parties--any tips on a math party? (I'm not kidding--my son is really into math...)
So cute, I love it!
What about geometry related putt-putt golf?
I also love this party idea. I can't wait to throw something similar for my girls.
I built a pvc pipe frame and used a zip tie and L brackets to hook it to the wall. The tutorial I used was the one for this puppet theater, I just made it bigger. =) And when I decided I wanted it hooked to the wall, I just used the front part.

Oooh, a math party sounds fun Splitty! What level of math is he on? You should come by my website, we can chat about it if you want, and I'm not sure if I'll see all the questions here. I love brainstorming.
