Best Kids Parties: Sugar & Spice & Everything Nice

My Party: Avery (Winchester, CA)

Ashleigh celebrated her daughter's first milestone with this pretty party: "Please come help us celebrate with sugar and spice and everything nice." That's what the invitation said so it really left the theme wide open, which I loved, because I wanted to be able to include everything girly, fun, and summery.

We had pinwheels with rhinestone centers, plastic pink flamingos, banner pennants, hanging paper lanterns, bright rainbow colored food, outdoor water/pool play, and all the sugar one could possibly eat (the cake frosting alone was made up of 3.5 bags of powdered sugar equaling 7 pounds of sugary goodness).

I had a blast creating everything from the photo displays to the cake toppers and I hope that someday Avery will see that her first birthday party (although she doesn't remember it now) is like a love letter designed just for her. We love you Avery!

Thanks Ashleigh! Readers, say hi to Ashleigh on her blog Team Gourley.
