Best Kids Parties: Creative Art

My Party

Name: Joy, 6
Location: Folsom, CA

My daughter Joy is fun and creative, and I wanted her party to reflect that. I chose to create a fun and colorful Art Birthday Party, something that I knew would be appropriate for both boys and girls (knowing both boys and girls would be party guests).

I had a great time creating a rainbow colored dessert and snack table as the centerpiece for the party. I made homemade cupcakes and decorated cookies, as well as simple snacks of fresh fruit and pretzels.

Party activities included two main craft projects. The first was a personalized mosaic canvas. Of course kids love anything with their name or initial, and they had fun chosing the colors for their own project.

The second project was coloring (with food color markers) on "Cookie Canvases" I had prepared ahead of time. Cutout sugar cookies were covered with white royal icing, and aloowed to fully dry, to create a surface for the kids to create their own masterpiece!

It was fun to see the little guests be creative, and we all had a great day!

Thanks, Glory!
