This is my 3rd year hosting a Valentine's party for a few of my daughter's friends. Valentine's was always one of my favorite holidays as a child. I just loved opening up all of the Valentine's that I received from all of my classmates and the trinkets and candy that sometimes came with them. Now that my daughter is 2 1/2, as well as most of her friends, the party was a little more exciting this go around.I made it simple and bought most of my supplies at the Dollar store. I also had many leftover supplies from years past parties. I bought V-day stickers and small buckets for each child to decorate. This is what held all of their Valentine's.
The lunch spread included pizza, fruit, and pasta salad. After lunch each child got to decorate a giant heart cookie. I baked them the night before and made the frosting the morning of the party. To make it easy, I separated the sprinkles ahead of time. This way each child had their own collection of sprinkles to decorate without fighting over it. This was their favorite part!
Each child left with their bucket of Valentine's and a heart shaped balloon. It was a fun filled day and my daughter was so giddy with excitement the rest of the day. She loved having all of her friends over. And it gave me a good excuse to be a kid at heart again.
Thanks Jennifer! Readers, say hello on Fran, Jen & Emily
