Get your ticket ready to board Jack's train celebration! Michelle shares all the creative details: We love vintage. We love throwing birthday parties. Our little boy loves trains. So, this year, we decided on a train theme.
We sent out tickets to each person with the date punched out of the paper. I collect vintage suitcases, so I had plenty to place around the house and outside with balloons tied to them. We had a table welcoming the guests with engineer caps and a train schedule. My husband pulled together a great collection of vintage train related props that we spread throughout the house. He created a large train and caboose that went down our dining room table. The cake and cupcake table had a vintage electric train (non-working) circling it.
Fans of Thomas the Tank Engine will like to know that we had Henry's Special Coal (chocolate oatmeal cookies) and Misty Island Jobi Logs (chocolate covered pretzel sticks.) We also had a little table that the guests could decorate a train car for their wooden railway... we had some train loving boys at our party!
I asked the guests to write out a special wish for the birthday boy on vintage looking luggage tags that I will keep in a memory box for him. I strung some photos of our boy at various train related places and activities that we have visited in the past year. The big balloons were a hit and so was our outdoor photo booth that had to be modified since it rained. We had a great time!
