Best Kids Parties: Where the Wild Things Are

My Party: Noah, Madeleine & Arielle (Fairfax, VA)

Sendak's Where the Wild Things Are is beloved by kids of all ages which makes it a wonderful theme for a party for 7, 3 and 2-year old siblings. Anh shares: “Let the WILD RUMPUS START!” The friends were greeted by the storyboard of the book words by words posted along the fence leading to the party.

All the decorations were made with items found around the house and plenty of cardboard boxes for the sailboat and larger-than-life silhouettes. Along with cupcakes and ice-cream the kids menu were vegetables and dip, ocean shaped chicken nuggets, mini-corn dogs, processed snacks (Cheez-its, Cheetos, cheez-twirls), fruits (strawberries/blueberries with whipped cream, grapes, and watermelon). The adults enjoyed egg-rolls, grilled pork with vermicelli noodles/vegetables, clam salad, summer salad, fish porridge soup, fried rice, chicken-ginger rice, shrimp egg-noodles, and fruit tart cake.
