Best Kids' Parties: Where the Wild
Things Are

My Party

Name: Sammy (2)
Location: Canton, Georgia

One of Sammy's favorite books is Where the Wild Things Are, and it seemed like the perfect theme for a toddler birthday party!

I wanted to keep decorations classic and simple. On a large watercolor sheet, I sketched one of the Wild Things and a tree and colored them with a light wash of paint. I also made a boat cake topper and a couple of fun photobooth type props.

The food was also simple; we served roast beef sandwiches, finger foods, and vanilla cake. Homemade mint cookie ice cream and raspberry cheesecake ice cream accented the cake nicely. Wooden utensils and paper ice cream pint containers were purchased from lovely Garnish and they were perfect for our theme!
