Name: Avery (3)
Location: Norfolk, VA
For Avery's Where The Wild Things Are party, we wanted to create an environment where the children could actually experience the story.
Upon arrival, we painted each child's face and clipped on a wolf tail and a pair of ears. Once the party guests were all in attendance, we marched to the backyard and the children paraded while beating on festive coffee can drums and blowing kazoos. It was a true wild rumpus.
I purchased "werewolf" faux fur and was able to make all the invitations, ears, and tails with one yard (on sale for $10 a yard). The drums/shakers were recycled coffee & Pringles cans filled with beans and wrapped with a patterned paper I made to match the theme. And the cupcakes were primarily composed of candy corn and marshmallow candies.
Thanks Cassie! Readers, see more of this party on Twittering Bird.

OMG! That is one of the best diy theme parties I have ever seen. I can't believe the detail in everything. Those invitations! Love the wolf tails and ears.
You are amazing! I love all of the inexpensive DIY touches that look better than any store-bought party supplies/favors. Avery is a lucky boy to have such a creative mama!
