My almost-2-year-old is a little pixie who happens to be obsessed with Tinkerbell, so for her 2nd birthday I planned a winter woodland fairy party. Lots of greenery, pinecones, red & white, sparkles, and as many twinkle lights as I could find turned our house into a wonderland.
I ordered most of my decorations and supplies from Save-On-Crafts, Oriental Trading Company and Bake It Pretty, with a trip to Ikea to fill in the rest (their Christmas stuff is cheap and cute!), I scoured Pinterest for winter/woods themed food and found plenty of great options. To turn our guests into fairies I ordered wings from The Hair Bow Company.
Our menu included a pine cone cheese ball, pancake tower, sparkling brie bites, snowman marshmallow pops, olive wreath, buttermints and reindeer cookies. We also had a hot cocoa bar with a wide variety of toppings for everyone and grown-up add ins like peppermint schnapps for the adults.
To occupy the kids I set up a decorate your own edible tree station on a low table. I made a ton of green frosting, set out bowls of candy and sprinkles and provided ice cream cones to serve as the base for "Christmas trees". The kids also decorated foam ornaments with foam stickies (all from Target) and played in the cardboard house I painted to look like a fairy cottage.
Caroline had a wonderful day surrounded by friends, sparkles and magic. Happy Birthday Pixie!
