We've practically shouted our love of linen from the mountaintops (here and here). Years ago an antique dealer at the old Treasure Island Flea Market told us -- as she sold us our first vintage French linen sheets -- that once you sleep on them, you'll never go back to any other kind of bedding. She was right. Here's our updated list of the best sources for linen bedding.

Would refer you to a line of linen bedding called Matteo, made in Los Angeles. Their website is matteohome.com.
I would kill someone for inexpensive (as in, under $40) linen sheets.
Why linen?
Woudn't linen kind of wrinkle really easily and drive you nuts? I have thee custom linen pillows and don't you dare touch them - as they wrinkle even when you look at them. I'm curious to know, like Quercus above, why linen is popular for sheets?
Ignore my post above, I figured out why you recommended them by reading the links to the older posts.
Hey, I just stumbled across Luxury Linen Shams on VivaTerra.com for 50% off! 3 versions: striped linen (standard), striped linen (euro) and hemstitch in flax (king). $24 to $34. Unfortunately, the sheets are not on sale. Humph.
You'll find a really great selection of the Libeco Belgian linen at Didriks. Check out the Vernazza if you want strong color!
I sleep on Libeco flannel sheets most of the year, but I love linen. I line dry it and don't find it too wrinkly.
OK. Just one more point about wrinkles. Yes, I'm not all that picky about the wrinkling of my sheets. It's kind of a relaxed lifestyle thing. But I do carefully line-dry. The dryer is a no-no. All that heat makes them wrinkle like crazy. Talking in person with folks at Libeco, I notice they all wear linen wraps or shawls that are a quite wrinkly, but look great.
Has anyone tried sheets by Linoto?:

I want to, but there are almost no reviews of them online.
y'know, etsy seller linenme has handmade bed linens. i'm thinking of getting a pair of pillowcases to try...

also curious about linoto. and really wanting some matteo, but completely can't afford it!!
After reading these comments, I ordered some sheets from Linoto a couple of weeks ago for my wife. We received absolutely amazing striped ones - neither of us can believe how amazing they are. They are packaged beautifully and are incredibly soft and cool. Just great.
Hi, I'm Jason, the founder for www.linoto.com. Gary, thanks for the kind words! It's great to find others who are passionate about linen sheets. As a fashion designer, I want to make things that feel special and truly worth the money. I started Linoto almost 2 years ago, when I was looking for (and unable to find) affordable linen sheets in modern styles. Our website has several customer reviews, if you're interested. Linoto has a 30-day money-back guarantee and offers free shipping on all orders in the USA. In the past 2 years, with hundreds of orders, only 1 set of pillowcases has ever been returned. Many of our customers have returned to buy additional sheet sets, towels, napkins, and curtains. We are friendly, accomodating and work hard to ensure every customer is satisfied with their purchase.
okay y'all, i posted above - got some linoto sheets for my birthday - and i love them! i'm living here in texas in the 100-degree weather, and they're just so light and cool to the touch! we sleep three in the bed and the linen sheets are a godsend!
besides that, the santorini stripe looks just delectable in our bedroom. i urge y'all to check linoto.com out if you're considering linen sheet, definitely.
Very good. Thanks all for replying to my earlier question.
I think I'll get some, but now the question is whether to get the normal set in oatmeal or the natural Belgian eco set.
I work for Brahms Mount in Hallowell Maine. I'm heartbroken we're not mentioned! We're currently the only 100% Linen manufacturers in North America weaving outstanding blankets and throws.
However, being a Linen fanatic myself, I'm glad you're giving this fiber the recognition it deserves!
www.roughlinen.com has natural washed linen bedding with a homespun texture, much more rustic and 'artisanal' than any of the others mentioned, but fabulously comfortable~
Hi, great to read all comments on linen bedlinen. At www.thelinenworks.co.uk we recently launched our beautiful range of prewashed bedlinen which is proving extremely popular with our customers. They are loving the relaxed look and the way the linen feels so soft the minute it goes on the bed. Colours are also making a come back - currently our dove grey and rose pink are selling just as well as our white.
My sister in law has an amazing line of Belgian linens from Pom Pom at Home here in Los Angeles....beautiful & soft
I love the look and feel of linen, but if $200-$400 is affordable for a bed sheet set, then count me out.
I am with @twleidy on this one... I LOVE my Linen sheets but I never understood why they were so expensive! Makes it hard to justify getting a second set as these wear out...
