Inspired by my good friends Rebecca and Maggie's new album, above, I've put together my top picks for the weekend of great albums to listen to at home when it's an easy listening, weekend type of thing. The Sparrows LB new album is a super sweet set of eleven original folk songs sung in harmony by two beautiful voices. This is totally family friendly and makes my eight year old break out in song. Check them out and head below for more... and... what are yours?
Top Music of Home
- Speaking in Tongues - The Talking Heads, 1983
"Home, is where I want to be..."
For all you 80's fans out there, this tops the bill with "Burning Down the House" and, my favorite, "This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody)." Little known fact, "David Byrne designed the cover for the general release of the album. Artist Robert Rauschenberg won a Grammy Award for his work on the limited-edition LP version." via Wikipedia
- Déjà Vu - Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, 1970
"Our house is a very, very fine house..."
Welcome to the 70's with this groundbreaking album by CSN now with Y. Their greatly anticipated second studio album, "Our House" was what we sang when feeling woozy and it topped the Billboard Hot 100. "Stills estimates that the album took around 800 hours of studio time to record."
- Parsley, Sage, Rosemary & Thyme - Simon & Garfunkel, 1966
"Homeward bound, I wish I was..."
One of my first albums and my entrance into music, this heartwarming, sweet and yet politically rousing Simon & Garfunkel second album was categorized as psychedelic rock and "Many critics have considered it a breakthrough in recording for the duo, and one of their best efforts. "Homeward Bound" became a top five hit in numerous countries." Via Wikipedia
