Shaw's Original Fir...
My Mika would adore that felted "beret"! The others are cute, but THAT one is what she would claim!
The first and the last ones are great. OTOH, one of my cats has spent hours curled up in a NAOT shoe box that she adores ........... so who knows what cats want!
Aww, SO cute, all of them!!!
But am I the only one whose cats don't continue using one sleeping space for more than a few days? It doesn't matter how much they love a new bed or found-space; the next week I have to look all over to find their new "spot."
while dedicated cat beds are adorable (as are these pictures), my cat is always going to prefer the torn boxpring bottom "hammock," the dirty clothes hamper, and the spot that gets really hot behind the couch.
Our cats seem to be drawn toward anything not specifically intended for them. We've spent good money on cat beds, toys, "tents", as well as snuggly blankets. They'd use them for the first few hours and then abandon them for the boxes/bag that the objects came in.
A few years ago, we bought a small table at a yard sale and were going to use it for a guest room bedside. The cats optioned it for themselves. Deciding to leave to them, we added a couple of seat cushions, and they now use it all the time.

love the cat bunk bed!
Awww that grumpy Persian!!
I love them all but cats are oh so finicky and unless I rub one all over myself to put my scent on it, they would only use it for a short period of time. I would love to see one of these that sits higher; maybe if the bed also offered a view of the squirrel & bird action outside, they would be more likely to use it longer! On another note; love all of these snuggly kitties!!
These are all really cute, but like previous posters said, my cat doesn't sleep in the same spot longer than a week or two. She especially wants nothing to do with anything I give her, but is interested in everything else. Oh cats.
Cute, cute, cute, cute, cute, CUTE !!!
I literally gasped in delight at the sight of the first cat bed. Fantastic! ... I like most of them, actually, but that one really makes my heart race. ...
...though as others have said: who knows what cats want? ... I think they usually like variety. My girlcat and her shyer big brother both ignored for WEEKS a flokati beanbag that I got for them, and then one day, the girlcat braved the beanbag's rustling noise and promptly bedded down in there for at least 2 wks straight (interrupted periodically by her brother, who only then decided to risk it). Then one day, they both tired of it and now rarely go lie in it.
Previously, my girlcat's favorite place was a pouf. Then she tired of that.
When the sun hits my desk, they compete for a spot in my leather inbox, which I can never empty now (heh). Other times, they snooze on the bed or, sometimes, on the loveseat.
As for the 2 official cat beds that I bought over the years, which they liked when they were kittens, they haven't touched those in ages, so I finally stuck them under my bed. I might try again with those come winter, but maybe it's just time to pass them on.
I notice that my little girlcat prefers to sleep curled up in a ball, while her huge baby huey of a brother likes to stretch out ... so they probably could use beds that fit those 2 different styles and body sizes.
Beyond that, cats do indeed sleep in the strangest places. When I was a kid, the family cat, who had her pick of a slew of beds and chairs and sofas and loveseats, often would chose to sleep curled up in a large box of worn down crayons!
Thanks for posting my Feline Voting Booth Contraption here! While I really did make this thing, it's sort of a joke. I usually just make ball-shaped cat beds; we all know that cats are far too independent to commit to any political party!
@ ec05- the fabric hammock under the box spring! LOL! Yes, when I had cats that's where they would sleep. Now my ferrets sleep there!
And yeah, cats by instinct, don't sleep in the same area all the time. Nature tells them to change it up to keep themselves safe from predators while at the same time following their prey (birds migrate, so the cats do, too).
@ MelissaM- your cat slept in a box of crayons! I once opened the storage drawer below the oven to kind one of my cats curled up in a mini banana bread baking pan!!! After that I changed her name to "Muffin". Didn't make a difference to her, she was too snooty to answer to anything I called her! (Except for the sound of the can opener rattling in the kitchen drawer! She'd ALWAYS answer to that!!)
My cat sleeps in a box from when my mother sent me a package. She wasted no time in claiming it. I made a pillow for her from leftover shams I had and stuffing from Joann's fabric and put it in there. Cats are cheap, man. I've purchased toys for them, but they'd rather play with straws and free junk. We're a bunch of suckers!
Purchasing a leash and harness was a good investment, too. If I didn't live in the city I'd let them roam, but alas... In the summer I will take them with me when I go to the park. People stare, but if dogs can do it, so can Leon and Elsa. They seem to really enjoy it, too.
I bought something similar to the first one, intending it for my smaller cat. Instead, my big cat, who can't really fit in it, either half-squashes himself in it with the rest of him hanging over the edge, muffin-top style, or he just sits on it to where I can't even really see the bed. It's very silly, but he seems to like the bed!
