Best of Three. We found putting this comparison shopping post together very intriguing - the older the design meant a higher price - now, we know that other factors certainly affect the cost, but it seems that the test of time adds to not only the design cachet but to the price tag of these pieces at the MoMA store.

From Left:

  • KnifeForkSpoon Flatware by Jasper Morrison (2004). It is made by Alessi of 18/10 stainless steel and is $40. for a five piece setting.
  • Dry Line Flatware by Achille Castiglioni (1982). It is made by Alessi of 18/10 mirror stainless steel and is $70. for a five piece setting.
  • Arne Jacobsen Flatware by Arne Jacobsen (1957). It is made by Georg Jensen of 18/8 matte stainless steel and is $115. for a five piece setting.
