Happy 2017 and welcome back to my Daily Find series on Instagram! I'm so excited to start this year because we have so many wonderful things to share with you. To kick off this month I want to show you a Christmas present I received from one of my colleagues — it is so lovely and I just had to feature it last week! Watch the video above and read on below to see why the Jane Domestic Suede Oven Mitts are this week's Daily Find.

Jane DePaolo's story begins when she failed to find a replacement (after ten years of use) for the suede hot pad she had received as a wedding present. There was nothing on the market that compared to the potholder she had come to rely upon — so she decided to make one herself! Thus her suede oven mitt was born.

Above all else, this is the highest quality oven mitt that I have ever seen. While the price reflects that level of craftsmanship, it is also a tool intended for years of use (as proven by Jane's original). It is made of four layers of suede, for complete protection of the most vulnerable part of your arm — and it's naturally heat-resistant for up to 500 degrees. While typical quilted oven mitts are bulky, the Jane Domestic mitt has an incredibly slim design. Double pockets, a pliable feel, and a sturdier grip combine to make this potholder much more different from what you may be accustomed to. The suede is also easy to wash and reuse: simply spot clean with a damp rag or throw in the washing machine and air dry.

In addition to its practicality, this oven mitt is the most stylish one you will ever own. Available in five gorgeous colors, it is sleek while maintaining an heirloom feel. Each mitt is embellished with a gorgeous gold criss-cross logo — inspired by the design a fork makes on the top of peanut butter cookies (the first thing Jane cooked in the kitchen with her mother). While you wouldn't think of using your typical bulky oven mitt as a hot pad, this one doubles as both: durable enough to handle your pans, beautiful enough to put on the dining room table.

I'm taking Jane's oven mitts home and I'm so excited to use them for years to come. Buy this timeless tool for yourself and you will see what you've been missing!
