We are firm believers in thrift stores, Craigslist, Ikea, and any other inexpensive places to find home decor. One place we refuse to skimp, however, is the linen closet. Sheets and towels are guaranteed to be used daily, so why not treat yourself to the best? One of our personal luxuries are bath sheets from Restoration Hardware, which at the moment, aren't too much of a splurge at all...
Bath sheets are typically anywhere from 35 to 40 inches wide by 65 to 75 inches long, which is at least 10 more inches in both directions than your average towel. The difference means you are just a little bit cozier, get dry a little bit faster, and lounge around post-shower a little bit longer - all good things in our book. Right now select colors are on sale for $23.99, making them quite an affordable luxury, after all (and isn't that the best kind?).

Their annual bath towel sale starts right after December 25th and usually runs the first week or three of January. Mark your calendars!
Oh, PS -- the web site doesn't tell you which colors are on sale now. Unless you're prepared to toggle every color in every size, you have to call and ask.
Descamp towels are the best ever - drying off is a whole new experience since we invested in a set of them.
I've been using these for several years now. Aside from the fact that I'm addicted to textiles, these are hands down the best money I've ever invested in towels. My guests always comment on how awesome they are too! I was sad when they discontinued the purples last year though :(
I got two of these as a gift last year and they are excellent! So soft, yet they still dry you off perfectly.
The Breeze and Grass bath sheets are on sale.
I agree on buying high quality towels because they'll last forever. But sheets can get ruined so easily, I go for Target and TJ Maxx for cheap sheets. And if they don't get holes or stains in them, they can get super soft. I have cheap pillowcases from Delia's that are 7 years old and they feel like butter.
my sister has these towels and they are amazing! they are like soft and thick marshmallows.
I have bought a few of the RH Bath sheets. They are nice, but they take forever to dry! I switched to an absorbent cotton spa robe and small towel for my hair - I love just slipping on a robe right as I get out of the shower.
Do they have tags? I detest tags on towels. My current set have seen a bit of wear, so it is almost time to replace them. I was actually thinking about having some made custom, to avoid tags, but a high-quality mass-produced line would be fine if there are no tags.
They usually have a bath sale when all colors are on sale. I can't remember what time of year it is though.
