Yum. We don't consider Apartment Therapy to be just about furniture. It is about loving and enjoying your apartment, despite the limitations of space, time & money. In all of this, the kitchen is CENTRAL. Purchases made for your kitchen, especially food and drink, are among the most joyous you can make. AND New York affords you luxuries in the food department that don't require a credit card to purchase. Our new big cheese is called La Tur and we only picked up the buzz on it over the weekend. A very soft cheese, made of sheep, cow and goat milk, La Tur is a delicious, rich blend that will turn heads. We found this rave from a Store Demo Coordinator at Whole Foods, Elusis, who passed on this story with the "cheese guys" in her store: With a wicked look, he piled a mini-toast high with cheese and gave it to me. I think I actually danced at this point, which amused him enough that he piled even MORE cheese on ANOTHER toast and gave that to me as well! By now I was reduced to hopping and going "eep! Eeep! Eeee!" and the whole team was giggling. "Don't laugh at me!" I scolded them mock-sternly. "It's OK," one of the guys said. "We're laughing because we all reacted that way too." She also recommends fresh raspberries and a glass of Riesling. We found La Tur at Murray's Cheese Shop (excellent) on Bleecker Street for @ $9 for a small wheel. (Thanks, Maggie!) MGR
